About Bulldog Saloon
The Bulldog Saloon is located in Downtown Whitefish, Montana. It has a full bar and serves handmade burgers, wings, and bar food. The saloon also features 15 TVs with major sporting packages, gaming machines, and a sports bet kiosk.
The building where the Bulldog Saloon is located is over 100 years old. It was originally named the Dodge House and has had various incarnations over the years. At one point, it was called Houston's Hall and the second floor was used for offices and meetings.
The main floor of the building was once a pool hall called the Pastime Pool Hall. It was owned by the Akey family for nearly 50 years and also sold other items such as guns, fishing tackle, and tobacco. A soda fountain was located in the basement for a short time after World War II.
The Bulldog Saloon is currently run by the second and third generation of the May family. The family purchased the building in 1983 and renamed it the Bulldog Saloon in honor of the Whitefish High School mascot. The saloon continues to be a part of downtown Whitefish.
